Terms of Service

1. The service

Ethics Bowl Manager (“the Service”) is free, open tournament software provided by the Harvard Undergraduate Ethics Society. The Service helps tournament directors schedule rounds, enter ballots, and publish standings.

2. Accounts

You may create an account using a valid email address. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Don’t share your password. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us right away so we can help.

3. Acceptable use

Don’t use the Service to harass, impersonate, or spam other users; to upload malware or content that violates the law; or to interfere with the Service’s operation (scraping, denial-of- service, attempts to access another account). We may suspend accounts that violate these rules.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the tournament data, ballots, and case materials you upload. By using the Service you grant us the limited right to store and display that content for the purpose of running the Service. Tournament hosts control visibility of their own data via the Visibility tab — review those settings before publishing.

5. No warranty

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Tournament directors are responsible for verifying scoring outcomes before announcing results. We make a best effort to keep the Service available and the data intact, but we don’t guarantee availability, accuracy, or that data won’t be lost.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Harvard Undergraduate Ethics Society and the Service’s contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

7. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the home page or by email to active hosts.
